art is hard (by raelala)

I managed to completely lose track of time, stayed up rendering a *COMP* until 4am, finally fell asleep around 4:30am, and although I set both my alarm clock and my phone to wake me around 6:30am, didn't actually wake up until 8:39am. Which is fantastic, seeing as how the class I was rendering comps for started at 8am.

These are re-workable basic drafts, by the way, that should have only taken a maximum of a half an hour apiece. I don't know what it is about the middle of the night, but if you wait until after midnight to put a stick of graphite in my right hand and an eraser in my left, I get so wrapped up in the details of what I'm drawing, it almost seems like I lose my sense of self.

One the other hand, I now feel a bit more confident in the possibility of not completely sucking as an illustrator.
